Buzzard

The Buzzard Field, in which Oranje-Nassau Energie (ONE) has a 0.47% stake, is located in UKCS Blocks 19/5a, 19/10, 20/1S and 20/6 under licences P.986 and P.928 South, 57 km north east of St Fergus as shown in the map below.

Buzzard is a world-class asset with an estimated 1.3 billion barrels of oil in place. It is one of the largest North Sea discoveries in the last decade, with ultimate recoverable reserves estimated at 775 million barrels. The field is the largest current producer of oil in the UK with peak daily production in 2011 exceeding 220,000 bopd (~ 1,000 bopd net to ONE) and is projected to stay at plateau production until 2014. Oil from the field is exported via the Forties pipeline to the Kinneil Terminal in Scotland and gas is exported via the Frigg system to the St Fergus Terminal.

With the installation and connection of a fourth processing platform at the end of 2010 areas of the field containing over a threshold amount of H2S can be produced. With this process equipment on line it is expected plateau production can be continued for several more years. Further upside exists through identified potential reserves additions and facilities optimisation. Given the increased industry attention in the area opportunities exist for future 3rd party processing tariff revenues. Nexen Petroleum (UK) Limited operates the Buzzard Field and the nearby Golden Eagle, Hobby and Pink Fields, that were discovered more recently and will be developed over the next few years.
